Z-Man's Quest

Cookie Controls

Plenty of websites need a long table of partners to explain their cookies. This one is short, because Z-Man's Quest stores exactly one thing on your device, and only after you have answered the notice.

What is stored

When you click either button on the cookie notice, the site saves your answer in your browser's local storage. Local storage works much like a cookie: it is a small entry kept by your browser for one website. Ours holds a single value recording whether you accepted or declined, so the notice does not keep reappearing as you move between articles.

EntryPurposeKept for
Your notice choiceRemembers that you answered, so the notice stays closedUntil you clear it in your browser

The entry is read only by the page in your browser. Neither the team nor any outside company ever receives it.

What is not stored

  • No analytics or statistics cookies.
  • No advertising or retargeting cookies.
  • No social media widgets that set their own cookies.
  • No fingerprinting or other ways of recognising you across visits.

Choosing accept or decline makes no difference to how the site works. Every article, category and page is available either way.

Changing your mind

To see the notice again, clear the stored data for zmansquest.com in your browser. In most desktop browsers this lives under the privacy or site settings section, often next to the padlock icon in the address bar. On phones, look for site settings or website data in the browser's menu. Private or incognito windows forget the choice automatically when they close.

Why show a notice for one entry?

A site that stores nothing could skip the notice entirely. We show it because remembering your answer is itself a small piece of storage, and we prefer to be open about it rather than quietly writing to your browser. The notice sits in a corner card, never across the top of an article, and it closes as soon as you choose.

Other websites

Links inside our articles can lead to outside websites. Those sites may use cookies of their own, governed by their own policies. Our setting has no effect on them.

More about your data
